Because we surveyed the Three Brothers region so extensively, I am breaking up the pages by day: 2015-03-17 through 03-20 (this page; sites BiTb27 to BiTb37), 2015-03-21 through 03-24 (sites BiTb38-BiTb49), and 03-25 to 03-28 (BiCc50 to BiTb58).

THREE BROTHERS (“Tb;” 2015-03-17 to 03-20)

BiTb27 (2015-03-17) Neither Seriatopora spp. nor P. acuta/P. damicornis were present at this site; instead collected other pocilloporids for a collaborator.

coral cover=36.6%, algal cover=46.4%, benthic data

BiTb28 (2015-03-18) Neither Seriatopora spp. nor P. acuta/P. damicornis were present at this leeward channel reef site; instead, I collected other pocilloporids for a collaborator.

coral cover=28.5%, algal cover=46.2%, benthic data

BiTb29 (2015-03-18) Although P. acuta/P. damicornis were not present at this site, Seriatopora spp. were, and three colonies (ChSe06-08) were sampled. I also collected other pocilloporids for a collaborator. coral cover=30.2%, algal cover=50.7%, benthic data

BiTb29 sampled Seriatopora spp. colonies (ChSe06-08). No images were taken of ChSe08, as it was collected by a collaborator.

BiTb30 (2015-03-18) P. acuta/P. damicornis (ChPd16-20) and Seriatopora spp. (ChSe09-10) were observed at this leeward fringing reef. coral cover=42.5%, algal cover=40.7%, benthic data.

BiTb30 sampled P. acuta (ChPa16-18) colonies. Please note that two other colonies (ChPd19-20) were also sampled from this site, though neither was photographed or genotyped.

ChPd19 meta data. ChPd20 meta data.

BiTb30 sampled Seriatopora spp. colonies (ChSe09-10)

BiTb31 (2015-03-18) I did not dive at this lagoonal patch reef, but two Seriatopora spp. colonies (ChSe11-12) were sampled on my behalf. It was also not a formally surveyed site.

BiTb32 (2015-03-19) One P. acuta (ChPa21) and one Seriatopora sp. (ChSe13) were sampled at this lagoonal bank reef.

coral cover=30.3%, algal cover=47.9%, benthic data

BiTb32 sampled P. acuta colony (ChPa21)

BiTb32 sampled Seriatopora sp. (ChSe13)

BiTb33 (2015-03-19) Neither P. acuta/P. damicornis nor Seriatopora spp. were observed at this lagoonal bank reef site; other pocilloporids were instead sampled for a collaborator.

coral cover=19% (LOW), algal cover=52% (HIGH), benthic data.

BiTb34 (2015-03-19) Both P. acuta/damicornis (ChPd/a22-25) and Seriatopora spp. (ChSe14-15) were observed at this leeward fringing reef. coral cover=61.1%, algal cover=27.8%, benthic data.

BiTb34 sampled P. acuta (ChPa22) and P. damicornis (ChPd24) colonies, as well as two P. acuta/damicornis colonies that have not yet been genotyped: ChPa/d23 and ChPa/d25.

BiTb34 sampled Seriatopora spp. colonies (ChSe14-15)

BiTb34.5 (2015-03-19) Only myself and a buddy went to this leeward lagoonal patch reef, and both Seriatopora sp. (ChSe16) and P. acuta (ChPa26-33; n=8) colonies were sampled.

BiTb34.5 sampled P. acuta colonies (ChPa26-33; n=8)

BiTb34.5 sampled Seriatopora sp. colony (ChSe16)

BiCc35 (“Central Chagos”=CC; 2015-03-20) Neither P. acuta/P. damicornis nor Seriatopora spp. were observed at this leeward lagoonal bank reef; other pocilloporids were instead sampled for a collaborator. coral cover=14.0%, algal cover=54.0%, benthic data.

BiCc36 (“Central Chagos”=CC; 2015-03-20) Neither P. acuta/P. damicornis nor Seriatopora spp. were observed at this leeward lagoonal bank reef site; other pocilloporids were instead sampled for a collaborator. coral cover=6%, algal cover=60%, benthic data.

BiTb37 (2015-03-20) Neither P. acuta/P. damicornis nor Seriatopora spp. were observed at this windward fringing reef; other pocilloporids were instead sampled for a collaborator.

coral cover=38.8%, algal cover=35.5%, benthic data
