CAUVIN BANK (“Ca;” 2015-03-09)
Only one site was surveyed at Cauvin Bank (BICA01) and neither P. acuta/P. damicornis nor Seriatopora spp. were present.
Coral cover=4.6%, algal cover=56.8, all benthic data
BiCa01 (2015-03-09)
EGMONT (“Eg;” 2015-03-10 & 2025-03-11)
Two days were spent surveying the reefs of Egmont, and six sites were visited (BIEG02-07). Pocilloporids and seriatoporids were only observed at and sampled from BIEG06 (a leeward backreef).

BIEG02 (2015-03-10) Neither P. acuta nor P. damicornis were observed; instead, I sampled P. verrucosa-like colonies only for a collaborator. Coral cover=31.8%, algal cover=58.2%, benthic data.
BIEG03 (2015-03-10) Neither P. acuta nor P. damicornis were observed; instead, I sampled P. verrucosa-like colonies only. Coral cover=37.3%, algal cover=48.6, benthic data.
BIEG04 (2015-03-10) Neither P. acuta nor P. damicornis were observed; instead, I sampled P. verrucosa-like colonies only for a collaborator. Coral cover=29.2%, algal cover=51.1%, benthic data.
BIEG05 (2015-03-11) Neither P. acuta nor P. damicornis were observed; instead, I sampled P. verrucosa-like colonies for a collaborator. Coral cover=46.7%, algal cover=34.5%, benthic data.
BIEG06 (2015-03-11) Both P. acuta (ChPd01-04) and Seriatopora spp. (ChSe01-02) were observed at and sampled from this site. Please note that the site codes all begin with “Bi” for BIOT, whereas my sample codes begin with “Ch” for Chagos.
coral cover=43.5%, algal cover=42.2%, benthic data
BIEG06: sampled Pocillopora acuta/damicornis colonies (n=4; ChPd01-04).
BIEG06: sampled Seriatopora spp. colonies (n=2; ChSe01-02).
BIEG07 (2015-03-11) Sampled eight P. acuta/damicornis colonies (ChPd05-12).
coral cover=47.5%, algal cover=42.4%, benthic data
BIEG07: sampled P. acuta (ChPa05-08, ChPa11) and P. damicornis (ChPd09-10, ChPd12) colonies (n=8).
It can be a rough life……
