King’s Reef (2022-10-13)

Truly a “tale of two reefs” when compared to the once surveyed just prior (Goulding Cay); this poor reef is absolutely smothered in algae, and it was evidently once comprised of abundant elkhorn thickets (whose skeletons comprise much of the reef framework). Some elkhorn colonies are hanging on for dear life, though. Note that the edited versions of these photos can be found here.
